I know, I know, you're gonna say that I've been preaching so long about the benefits of crystal in your barware. And that philosophy still holds true. The glasses are specifically designed to increase the heavy beer ingredients into the bottom of the glass which narrows at the bottom. This narrowing of the base increases the glass pressure at the bottom and pushes up the CO2 and unleashing more of the beers specific quality ingredients. Does each glass correspond to a certain type or style of beer? For example, could you use the same glass for a Belgian White or a Dark Pilsner?
I wouldn't necessarily separate each beer by their color but rather by their ingredients. Obviously a hefeweizen stands alone is best suited for the wheat glass and a lager for the lager glass. The fun part is to try the different beers in their respective glasses and see how they compare to a regular "beer" glass (which is actually just a shaker glass and bars use them because their cheap and indestructible).
